PADI Tec 50

The third part of the full PADI Tec Deep Diver program. As a Tec 50 diver, you show that you’ve developed competency as a tec diver and have the skills to dive to a maximum of 50 metres/165 feet. You know how to make extended, accelerated decompression stops using up to two gases. It’s not easy to reach this level and earning your Tec 50 certification opens the door to deeper diving expeditions.

The course is typically conducted over 3 days with classroom & practical application sessions on the first two mornings, followed by training dives at local dive sites. The final two training dives are planned decompression dives with 2 decompression gases for accelerated decompression.

As a PADI Tec 50 diver, you will learn to:

  • Use air, EANx and 100% oxygen for multiple stop decompression dives as deep as 165ft/50m
  • Use two decompression gases (nitrox and/or oxygen) to accelerate or add conservatism
  • Perform additional emergency procedures for multiple cylinders
  • Think like a tec diver
  • Conduct mission planning and task loading analysis
  • Understand the basics of Trimix diving

NOTE: The PADI Tec 50 course is conducted in full technical diving gear.
